Personal commitments

Every Ontarian wants a better life for their kids and grandkids. Under Doug Ford, that’s not happening. That’s why I’m running - to deliver a new deal for the next generation. Young people may think they are at the mercy of a Conservative government, at the mercy of the world. Well, I am here to tell you: no more. We can have the future we want. We can live in an Ontario that’s affordable if we choose to change. No more status quo, no more politicians with hollow promises—I am here to make sure that your hard work means something. Choose me, and I promise that together we will achieve the future you and your family deserve.

Education

Having worked in the education sector and coming from an extended family of educators, fixing the system our kids depend on is critical to me. If elected, I would advocate to:

  • Address the basics of education: small class sizes, adequate facilities, fair compensation for educators, and empowering a workforce that cares deeply about our kids' future.
  • Ontario Liberals have a strong record on education. We:
    • Raised Ontario’s high school graduation rate from 68% in 2003 to over 86% by 2017 and increased support for at-risk students.
    • Implemented full-day kindergarten.
    • Provide free tuition for students from families earning under $50,000 per year through the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP).
    • Increased teacher pay.

Housing Affordability

I came to our community from the East Coast over a decade ago to build a life in Toronto, to achieve my Canadian dream here in the city. For so many in my generation that dream never materialized due to the exponential increase in housing costs. I’m running to change that. If elected, I would advocate to:

  • Deliver a YIMBY agenda where we build the housing we need without delay. We must build at a scale the housing crisis requires.
  • Implement recommendations from the Housing Affordability Task Force (HATF).
  • Increase housing supply by incentivizing all building types: diverse and affordable housing options, from rental apartments to homes for families.
  • Implement As-of-Right Zoning and expand "Missing Middle" Housing: Allow the construction of multiplex units on all residential lots provincewide. Permit low-rise multi-unit housing, such as duplexes and triplexes, in traditionally single-family neighborhoods to increase housing density.
  • Create a public builder in Ontario to advance mixed-income housing.
  • Empower cities to build housing by ensuring their planning and permitting departments have access and training to staff on expedited and automatic permitting processes.

Healthcare

Healthcare should be there when you and your family need it—without long waits, without barriers, and without forcing people to navigate a complex and broken system. I’m committed to advocating for a healthcare system that delivers real care, close to home, for everyone in our community. If elected, I would advocate to:

  • Expand the number of long-term care beds in east end Toronto so our neighbours can be close to their communities and families.
  • Implement stronger strategies for aging in place - broader homecare, community-based services.
  • Integrate mental health services into the broader healthcare system, ensuring comprehensive support, especially for those visibility struggling in our community to access.
  • Modernize administrative aspects of our healthcare system, streamlining paperwork, and cutting red tape, improving digital health services to enhance access to quality care.

Youth Jobs and Skills Development

Ontario has the highest youth unemployment rate in the country, and too many young people feel shut out of meaningful opportunities. If you work hard, you should be able to build a future here—that’s the Ontario we need to create. If elected, I would advocate to:

  • Require all Ontario infrastructure projects to include Community Benefits Agreements, ensuring they create local skilled jobs for young workers and deliver lasting benefits to communities
  • Expand programs like the Summer Experience Program to connect more young Ontarians with meaningful government and public sector roles.
  • Expand incentive programs for paid internship and co-op programs, especially in high-demand industries like the residential construction and energy sector.

Sports and Recreation:

As a former professional athlete, I know firsthand how access to sport and recreation changes lives. That’s why I’m committed to build an Ontario where every person—regardless of income or ability—has the opportunity to participate and thrive. If elected, I will advocate tor:

  • Renovate or replace crumbling community recreation facilities across Ontario.
  • Push for recreation facilities to be included as part of “community infrastructure” so they can benefit from future funding through the Ontario Infrastructure Bank.
  • Create a comprehensive sport and recreational tourism strategy – Leveraging Ontario’s state-of-the-art facilities to attract major events, boost local economies, and put our province on the international stage.
  • Establish an Office of Strategic Partnerships within the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming and Ministry of Sport  – Connecting Ontario teams, athletes, and facilities with national and international opportunities to sustain and grow our sports sector.
  • Work with school boards across Ontario to make recreation leadership programs count for high school credits—helping young people gain valuable skills while reducing financial barriers to training.

Transit

East enders depend on public transit to get where they need to go, but too often, our services fall short. With one of the largest public transit projects in the province—the Ontario Line—under construction in our community, we have a unique opportunity to improve transit for all. If elected, I would:

  • Hold Metrolinx to account – too often, Metrolinx sets commitments and deadlines they fail to meet. I will fight to ensure they are held to account, minimize disruptions, and deliver a transit system that actually works for our community.
  • Prioritize safety on public transit – I will ensure our city has the tools and resources needed to keep our transit system safe, clean, and secure for everyone who relies on it.
